- 20-30 pounds
- 14-16 inches at the withers (shoulder)
Family Life
- Will do okay in an apartment, but better with a small yard
- Usually good with children
- Good with other pets
Training
- Fairly easy to train, but may not respond well to harsh training
- Need good socilazing as a puppy so they do not grow up to be shy
- May be difficult to housebreak
- Should not be left alone for long periods or destructive behavior may develop
Exercise
- Need regular walks
- Have good stamina
- Like to hunt
Coat
- Silky, wavy, medium length coat
- Average shedder
- Many colors, solid and multi
- You may prefer to clip their coat
- Thick undercoat to protect them from the cold
Care
- Eyes need regular cleaning
- Needs daily brushing and regular shampooing if the coat is long
- Requires regular trimming, whether the coat is long or medium length
Health
- Common health problems include cataracts, glaucoma, patella luxation, demodicosis (red mange) and deafness
Lifespan
- 12-15 years
