Lowchen Personality
Originally from France, the Lowchen was the premiere lapdog of 16th century Europe where he was fondly known as “Little Lion Dog” due to his popular lion clipped haircut
Friendly, good-natured, affectionate and an all-around delightful companion
Playful and non-aggressive, the Lowchen makes a fantastic family dog, a great playmate for children who have been taught proper pet etiquette

Lowchens are well-suited for any environment provided they receive loads of attention and exercise
Owners should have a sense of humor when dealing with the sometimes mischievous Lowchen; keeping the Lowchen as the center of attention will pre-empt any ill-behavior
Happiest when included in activities like a regular companion and can be rather naughty when left out
Great with other dogs and pets provided he is socialized and given a proper introduction
Lowchen Bark
Lowchens have a small bark that they are more likely to use when begging for a biscuit then when responding to an intruder
