Julie the Pleasant Pitador (Adopt-A-Dog Day 27)

The hunt for the pawfect pet parents for 31 pawtastic pups continues with day 27 and our latest adoptable dog Julie. Julie’s a Pitador (Pit Bull/Labrador mix) with a bouncy personality at just eight months old.

She’s a sweetheart with lots of love to give and lots of smarts. Already, Julie has learned to shake hands and crawl!

Julie’s Ruff Rescue: This super pup was a stray taken in to the Pasadena Humane Society this past July. Unfortunately, even though Julie’s an adorable puppy, it was tough to get her adopted because of her black fur. Her “kill date” was on the horizon, but the Basic Needs Foundation would have none of that and asked the Basset Rescue Network (Acton, CA) to swoop in to help.This poor pittie stayed at the Basset Rescue Network for two whole months and no one wanted to take this black beauty home. Though the super rescue workers had done a great job caring for little Julie, it was time for her to go with Basic Needs Foundation where they found Julie a great foster home.

Julie’s Fave Toy: Some might discriminate against Julie because of her black fur, but Julie doesn’t discriminate against her toys! She loves them all including the chewy, bouncy, and tuggy kind.

Best Buddies: Julie’s best bud is a one-year-old Border Collie mix named “Oreo.” He lives next door and is the perfect mate for a girl like Julie who loves to bounce around, bark and play like any puppy would.

Silliest Pup Moves: Julie’s as unique as unique can be, do you know why? She sleeps like no other dog. Julie loves to plop onto the couch on her back, stick her four paws up in the air, hang her head over the edge and snooze away.

Sweetest Pup Moments: This gal is so lovey dovey that she even kisses kitty cats. In fact, at a recent adoption this pretty black julie_pitador_smiles beauty gave a pretty black cat a great big slobbery kiss. Though she’s sweet on this cat, if other cats run she won’t hesitate to chase!

Puparrazi Buzz: “I met Julie at the Redondo Beach Dog Park Howl’oween event and thought that she was so cute I just had to grab a snapshot of her!” says Martha Smith, i Love Dogs Managing Editor.

Pawfect Furever Home: She has exuberant puppy energy, so an active home would be a must. Kids must be over ten years old to avoid being knocked down when Julie runs her cute tail around the house or yard.

Pup’s Bark: Julie’s an intelligent girl who learns her basic commands quickly. She is being shown at Animals Rule’s adoption event in San Pedro every Saturday from 11 AM – 3 PM.
