Laverne & Shirley Have Nothing on Ping & Pong (Adopt-A-Dog Days 20 & 21)
Howloween is approaching and our online campaign to find homes for 31 dogs continues as the month winds down. This Tuesday and Woof Wednesday bring us a couple of inseparable adoptable dogs that put the “schlemeel, schlamazel” in bark, woof. These girls are the dog diva versions of Laverne and Shirley!
i Love Dogs is excited to feature our adoptable dog best friends Ping & Pong! They are two Lab/Irish Setter mix gals looking for mischief with a smile and a twinkle in their eyes. At 10 years old they’re still as cute as the day they took their first roll in the dirt as pups.
Ping & Pong’s Ruff Rescue: It’s possible these girls were victims of the recession because they were found tied up in a yard. Times really are ruff! But luckily, they had good Karma Rescue swoop in to scoop them up and find them their furever homes.
Ping & Pong’s Favorite Toy: These old gals like to keep their toy playing traditional. They’re all about playing with a good ball!
Best Buddies: Each other of course! Ever heard of Lucy and Ethel, Laverne & Shirley? Well, meet the greatest comedic dog pair of all time – Ping & Pong!
Silliest AND Sweetest Pup Moves: Karma Rescue workers say Ping has a specialty. Ping’s an expert at stop, drop and roll. She’s learned that humans are the best love-givers so she’s devised a strategy for getting lots of tickles and love. She’ll walk right up to a person, and stop, drop so you can rub her stomach and roll in delight when you hit her tickle spots. Ping has so much love to give and receive that she kept doing this signature move to the veterinarian and the vet tech even after her check-up – how many dogs love tummy rubs even from the vet AFTER a check-up?!
Pong has the same amount of love to give and receive as Ping, but she’s a classy girl who doesn’t like getting her coat dirty with a roll on the ground. She prefers to keep her fur nice and soft so humans will have a better experience petting her. But nice fur means lots more pet sessions, right? Smart pup!
Pong’s got her own super-sweet quirk. Get ready for this, folks – Pong loves to hold paws! Her foster parent says that whenever she is in the back seat of the car she’ll put her hand on the driver’s seat and Pong just likes to reach up and put her paw on top of her foster mom’s hand. Pong is not even looking for you to pet her necessarily; she just wants to hold paws with you!
Puparrazi Buzz: Ping and Pong are so beloved that a Karma Rescue worker says, “The girls personify living in the moment. They are happy for the companionship of whoever is with them, ecstatic for whatever food, toys and affection come their way. They are really in tune with the emotions of whoever is around them. It just took a little time around human beings who cared for them before they reciprocated that love tenfold. If I had an actual home and not a one-bedroom apartment, these two would be living with me for sure.”
Pawfect Furever Home: The girls need a home with people who enjoy nice walks and trips to the park. A couple or individual looking for some fuzzy companionship and who enjoy a bit of exercise now and then would be the ideal pet parents for these sassy girls. These girls are so curious that when they go on walks they like to sniff every tree for blocks! So, they need a special pet parent willing to invest a little bit of time leash-training them.
Ping and Pong are looking for a furever family to make their dream come true! They’re a couple of sweethearts that you’ll never regret bringing into your family. But let them tell you for themselves, hear it straight from the pups’ snouts here.
Spread the word i Love Dogs Rescue Network and help Ping and Pong find a new furever home!
