KLOS Mark & Brian Pet Adoption Day a Howling Success
Last weekend’s KLOS Mark & Brian Pet Adoption Day was a huge success. According to Miriam Davenport, senior director of development at event host spcaLA, about 200 animals found furever homes – 82 of them on the day of the event.
On May 8, more than 3,500 animal lovers enjoyed a beautiful spring Saturday at spcaLA’s P.D. Pitchford Companion Animal Village in Long Beach, Calif. They were there to find new furiends, see Tillman the Skateboarding Dog strut his stuff, meet Dodger legend Steve Garvey and watch radio stars Mark & Brian broadcasting live.
i Love Dogs was proud to be part of this event. In addition to offering free samples of our premium vitamins and supplements and TJ’s Health Bites, we requested a dollar donation for our signature leashes, Frisbees and bags. By the end of the day we collected $140 for spcaLA.
It was a joy meeting so many fellow dog lovers – many of whom were already pet parents – and so much fun getting smooches from the adorable adoptable dogs who passed by our booth. One of our favorites was Sheila, a Rottweiler who was featured on the Dr. Phil Show about animal cruelty on May 11. You can see in our video how sweet Sheila is, yet she’s still waiting for her furever home.
We congratulate the 200 lucky pets and luckier pet parents who are making new lives together. But unfortunately many dogs and cats remain in the shelter, still waiting for their own happy endings. How about checking out the spcaLA website (or the TJ.LA Find a Friend search engine) and making it happen?

UPDATE: Great news – Sheila was adopted on May 15! Congratulations to this sweet Rottie and her loving new family.
