Have a Pawsome National Dog Day!
This holiday was started six years ago by pet lifestyle expert and author Colleen Paige as a way to show appreciation to our four-legged friends for their “endearing patience, unquestioning loyalty, for their work, their capacity for love and their ability to impact our lives everyday in the most miraculous ways,” to quote the official website.
On August 26 each year, people are encouraged to recognize the number of dogs needing to be rescued, and to acknowledge family dogs and dogs that work each day to save lives, keep us safe and bring comfort.
Looking for ways to celebrate? Here are just a few suggestions:
Keep your pooch impacting your life in miraculous ways for many National Dog Days to come by feeding him a healthy diet along with i Love Dogs premium vitamins and supplements. The liver-flavored tablets are so tasty, dogs think they’re getting a treat (which they actually are)!
Take your dog along for a meal in a restaurant that welcomes four-legged guests. Check out our newly redesigned dog-friendly establishments website, iLoveDogFriendly.com, for a restaurant close to you…along with hotels, dog parks and more.
Pamper your pooch with a day at the spa — in your own home. Treat Fido to a grooming session that includes a bath, mani/pedi, brush out…and complete it with a nice belly rub.
Ready to really splurge? Consider one of our fabulous diamond dog collars. How about our Amour, Amour, which was featured on E!’s “World’s Most Expensive” and dubbed “the Bugatti of dog collars” by Forbes Senior Editor Matt Miller? This 52-carat collar is adorned with 1,600 hand-set diamonds and a stunning, 7-carat centerpiece. Portions of each sale are donated to shelters and rescues.
Speaking of homeless dogs, make a donation to your local shelter, or spend some time there giving a little lovin’ to the pooches.
No matter how you choose to spend time with your precious pup, we at i Love Dogs wish all you dog moms and dads – and your beloved pooches – a very happy National Dog Day!
