Mojitos & Mutts 3 Raises Money for Molly’s Mutts & Meows

A great time was had by all at Mojitos & Mutts 3 and we would like to thank everyone who came out. Some new people showed up to say hello and we were excited to see some old friends return with their dogs for the party!

Of course, it wouldn’t be a Mojitos & Mutts without helping a worthy cause. This time around we had the honor of raising funds and toys for Molly’s Mutts & Meows, a group that pulls animals from shelters and finds them loving, forever homes. It’s rewarding but sometimes tough work and we at i Love Dogs commend the groups that do it and do it well!

We had a great time putting together the event, which was our biggest yet. Our friends at Bark Pet Photography came out and snapped some pictures of our canine guests for just $10 a print. A fantastic value for the photos and the proceeds went directly to Molly’s!

Pawsitively Wendy was there with some of their super pretty apparel. They were also cool enough to raffle off some very nice prizes, like a T-shirt (customized to the winner’s needs), a hat and a $50 gift certificate. And for a limited time, if you enter the code ILD825 when ordering items from the Pawsitively Wendy site, the company will donate a whooping 15 percent of the sale to Molly’s Mutts & Meows. That’s amazing generosity!

Neighborhood boutique Pussy & Pooch set up a “paw bar” of treats, which—not surprisingly—went over huge with the canine guests.

When party-goers weren’t perusing any of the activities or tables, they were mingling with each other; the dogs especially had a great time introducing themselves to each other and all the humans. Some attendees included the Kriers, who attended our TweetUp back in March and the first Mojitos & Mutts, with their Vizsla and Shiba Inu, and also Johnny Ortez, who writes the Los Angeles small dogs column for Examiner.com. His best pal Rufus, a super loveable Dachshund, accompanied him and made a lot of humans say “ooohh!” and “ahhh!”

Thanks to everyone’s attendance and support, we brought in $155 and even got a couple of KONG toys, which the KONG Company will once again generously match.

We’d also like to take a minute and thank some of our other sponsors because without their support the Mojitos & Mutts event wouldn’t be nearly as great. Thank you to Worldwise, whose very cute dog toys were raffled off; to Pup-Peroni, whose yummy treats made many a pooch happy; FURminator—we raffled off a couple of the very popular grooming tools; FIDO Friendly, who have been great paw pals and donated magazines for our gift bags; and to Petrol Fuel for Dogs, whose vitamin drinks made their first appearance (welcome!) in our gift bags.

Most importantly, we’d like to thank the attendees who came out in person and all those who could only be there in spirit. And thanks to our loyal fans and friends who purchase our vitamins. Because of you, we can continue doing works that benefit dogs—while making your own dogs healthier in the process.

Our next Mojitos & Mutts is on September 29, followed by our Howl’oween extravaganza on October 27. Mark your calendars—we’ll see you there!
