Become a Hero this Month by Adopting a Shelter Dog!
October is Adopt-A-Shelter-Dog Month, which is intended to raise awareness, celebrate adoptable dogs and prompt thousands of would-be dog lovers into adopting their next pooch from a local shelter or rescue organization.
“Adopting a dog from your local shelter is a simple, yet heroic deed,” said Marie Belew Wheatley, president and CEO of the American Humane Association. “By providing a home to an animal that didn’t have one, you can help reduce the regrettably high number of homeless pets in this country. And you’ll be rewarded in so many ways, as you experience the joy of building an invincible bond with a loving and faithful companion.”
i Love Dogs wants to help you perform this heroic deed (no cape required). Starting October 1 and throughout the month, our website will feature pup pals available for adoption, selected by the i Love Dogs team. We hope to spread the word that these adorable adoptables – along with so many others – are ready for a furever home.
Please join our i Love Dogs Rescue Network and help us get the word out about these homeless pooches! Post links to our stories on Twitter and Facebook, email links to your friends and family – whatever it takes!
If you or someone in your social network becomes a hero by adopting one of our featured dogs, not only will you get a best friend for life, but if you mention that you saw the dog on our website, i Love Dogs will send you a brand new pooch starter kit!
The kit includes the following goodies:
Tennis balls
Troy Jr. (“TJ”) flying disk
A two-week supply of TJ’s Health Bites (yummy, peanut butter-flavored vitamins for dogs)
An i Love Dogs Green Tea trial pack
A discount coupon for i Love Dogs vitamins and supplements
A reusable goodie bag with our logo (because we know how much you love your new dog!)
“Trainer Tips” handouts from our in-house trainer, Eugenia Vogel
Adopt-A-Shelter-Dog Month allows you to become a hero and help advocates of animals by giving a home to a special new friend. Whether you adopt a pup from your local shelter or find a home for a dog from a rescue organization so it can take on more dogs in need, you’re supporting the effort to get ill-fated dogs into the happy arms of a faithful new owner.
Make October the month for heroic acts – help these dogs get adopted and become a (super)hero!
