German Shepherds Looking for a Fairy Tale Ending

We all know that Anaheim, Calif. is home to the happiest place on earth, but did you also know that there are hundreds of dogs waiting to be rescued from the OC?

Throughout Adopt-a-Shelter-Dog Month, i Love Dogs is spotlighting dogs needing furever homes, selected by our team. To do my part, I chose Dagger and Beauty, a beautiful pair of German Shepherds waiting to be adopted from the German Shepherd Rescue of Orange County. I wanted to feature these two dogs because they’re a pair who wants find a home together.

Three weeks ago, Dagger and Beauty’s young owner died in a car accident, and the dogs were taken to their veterinarian’s office. Unfortunately, these are two big dogs that are accustomed to sleeping in a warm home every night, so they’ve become very confused and distraught over sleeping in small kennels. The pair are very bonded, and the vet staff is certain that the previous owner would have wanted them to be placed in a home together.

Dagger, the male, is 3 years old and Beauty, the female, is 6 years old. Both are current on their vaccinations and housebroken. They are calm dogs with good temperaments; however, Dagger is not fond of cats, so a feline-free home is best.

i Love Dogs is featuring homeless pups like Dagger and Beauty for Adopt-A-Shelter-Dog Month, which is intended to raise awareness, celebrate adoptable dogs and prompt thousands of would-be dog lovers into adopting their next pooch from a local shelter or rescue organization.

So please join the i Love Dogs Rescue Network and help us get the word out about these homeless pooches! Post links to our stories on Twitter and Facebook, email links to your friends and family – whatever it takes!

If you or someone in your social network becomes a hero by adopting one of our featured dogs, not only will you get a best friend for life, but if you mention that you saw the dog on our website, i Love Dogs will send you a brand new pooch starter kit, including toys, vitamin samples and other goodies!

To adopt Dagger and Beauty, contact the German Shepherd Rescue of Orange County. Let us know about your new furry friend, and we’ll send you a pooch starter kit!
