Be a Mama (or Papa) for Mia
Meet Mia, a German Shepherd-Beagle mix who’s waiting for her furever home at Bideawee in New York, N.Y.
Mia isn’t shy about speaking up for what she wants, which pleases Melissa Treuman, the shelter’s operations project manager who, like Mia, is a native New Yorker. “Her voice is so cute. You know when Mia wants attention and when she doesn’t want you to stop petting her,” Treuman says in a video.
The 4-year-old snugglebug had been adopted from Bideawee as a puppy, but was returned to the shelter when her pet parent died. She is housebroken, very eager to please and needs a strong leader.
“As soon as you show her some attention, she really bonds to you and just becomes a potato. She is my favorite!” Treuman said.
Every Friday, i Love Dogs has been spotlighting a homeless dog as part of our i Love Dogs Rescue Network effort to find furever homes for these pooches.
I chose Mia because she’s part German Shepherd, i Love Dogs’ featured breed this month, and because she reminds me a lot of my own adorable Beagle mix, Ella – they’re both vocal and have a cute “Eddie Munster” mask on their heads. I’m hoping Mia can find another pet parent as loving as her first one.
Mia is one of Bideawee’s featured April pets, so if you adopt her this month, adoption fees will be waived. Please help us spread the word that this sweet pooch is ready for her furever home.
The 4 (Paws)-1-1:
If you or someone in your social network becomes a hero by adopting one of our featured dogs, not only will you get a best friend for life, but if you mention that you saw the dog on our website, i Love Dogs will send you a pooch starter kit, including toys, vitamin samples and other goodies!
