Odd Couple Needs a Furever Home Together

Talk about an odd couple: Bob, a 4-year-old Chihuahua mix, and Irene, a year-old Pit Bull mix, are head-over-heels in puppy love … and waiting for a furever home together.

In an Agoura Shelter video, a volunteer snuggling with the dogs says they were brought in together as strays.

“They were out there, making their way in the world as a couple, and as you can see, they’re very bonded,” he says. “They love each other. We have them together in one kennel …It would be just great if we could adopt these two out as a pair – they’d be lost without one another.”

As the saying goes, opposites attract: Bob is quiet and more low-key, while Irene is more energetic and loves to play (the shelter volunteer says she “may be the sweetest dog I’ve ever met – she’s so nice.”)

Every Monday, i Love Dogs spotlights a homeless dog as part of our i Love Dogs Rescue Network effort to find furever homes for these pooches.

I chose these two lovebirds (lovedogs?) because each is a breed found far too often in animal shelters – and they’re so darned cute together!

Names: Bob and Irene.
Breeds: Bob is a Chihuahua mix and Irene is a Pit Bull mix.
Age: Bob is about 4 years old and Irene is a year old.
Personality: Both are very well behaved, do well on leash and seem to be housebroken. Bob is more low-key and inquisitive, while Irene is playful and affectionate.

The shelter, located at 29525 Agoura Road in Agoura, is open from 12 to 7 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays through Sundays.
