Anne Hathaway Celebrates Engagement With Her Dog

Holy engagement, Catwoman! Anne Hathaway recently became engaged to her long-time boyfriend, Adam Shulman.

According to PEOPLEPets.com, the actress, who plays Selina Kyle in the upcoming “The Dark Knight Rises,” was spotted wearing her engagement ring on Sunday in Brooklyn’s Fort Greene Park. However, this Catwoman seems like more of a dog lover – her chocolate Lab, Esmeralda, was spotted with Hathaway and Shulman.

Congrats to the happy couple and, of course, Esmeralda. Two pet parents = more treats!

Katherine Heigl Hates Balls!

One of our Hollywoof favorites, Katherine Heigl, has done a lot for the dog community through the Jason Heigl Foundation she started with her mom.

Now the foundation is launching a new campaign called “I Hate Balls!” (And, uh, they don’t mean tennis balls.)

According to its website, I Hate Balls is an edgy campaign targeted to raise awareness about spaying and neutering, “a simple and extremely effective means of stopping the killing of animals in shelters.” The campaign aims to reach into all pet-friendly hearts and homes with one surgically direct mission – fight the good fight against testicles! (We’re assuming Kelly Osbourne isn’t interested in this campaign.)

Heigl filmed a new “Funny or Die” video that clearly shows just how much she hates balls. The hilarious clip shows Heigl giving a rundown of why balls make dogs “2-percent dangly digusting” instead of “100-percent adorable.” The aim is to get people to realize that 5 million pets are killed every year due to a lack of spaying and neutering.

Pamela Anderson’s Dog-Friendly House for Rent

Pamela Anderson is renting out her Malibu, Calif., house, and get this – it’s totally dog friendly.

According to VBRO.com, the website featuring the listing, rentals start in February 2012, giving financially endowed pet parents the chance to live in a dreamy Malibu beach house designed and decorated by the former star of “Baywatch.”

“I’m traveling so much these days and am enjoying a lot more time in my native Canada with my family,” Anderson explains on VBRO.com. “I’m finally willing to share my masterpiece – what I’ve co-created with a handful of green architects and designers … this is my humble stab at perfection … it’s a magical spot.”

The house is completely iPad controlled and features a private saltwater pool, deck, balcony and private beach for your favorite pooch – if you can afford the $20,000-a-week rental fee.

We’re pretty sure whatever pup gets to live in this modern dog house deserves to wear a fabulous i Love Dogs diamond dog collar during their vacay!

PAWS UP for Angelina Jolie / PAWS DOWN for Miss Piggy

• Paws up for Angelina Jolie! Mrs. Brad Pitt recently confessed during a “60 Minutes” interview on CBS that she doesn’t mind putting Jacques, her English Bulldog, in the spotlight. “At the house Angelina’s renting in Budapest, we weren’t allowed to film her children, unless you call Jacques one of her kids,” said her interviewer, Bob Simon. “He seemed to love the camera almost as much as the camera loves Angelina.” Jolie playfully scratched Jacques’s back before the hammy pooch turned to a cameraman and his lens.
• Paws down for Miss Piggy! The feisty Muppet told PEOPLEPets.com that she had to “re-home” Foo-Foo, her pet Poodle, because the pooch was “getting a little nippy” with her beau, Kermit. ”[Foo-Foo] really didn’t much care for Kermit, it seems,” Miss Piggy told PEOPLEPets. Sorry, Miss Piggy and PEOPLEPets, but we just don’t find the idea of dumping a beloved dog – Muppet or otherwise – the least bit funny.
