Meet the i Love Poodles Photo Contest Winners!
Thanks to all of you who granted our wish to see oodles of Poodles in our i Love Poodles photo contest last month!
And special thanks to our contest judge, Joani Kautz Ellis of Florida Poodle Rescue. Like many judges before her, she said choosing two winners from so many beautiful Poodles and Poodle mixes was no easy task.
“This was very challenging, as all the photos were very unique,” she said. “These pics just made us smile, and they all deserve an Honorable Mention.”
Without further pawdo, here are our i Love Poodles photo contest winners!
1st Place: Muffy
“Muffy’s photo illustrates the non-stop laughter Poodles can cause with their clownish antics,” Ellis said of her first-place choice.
“The Poodle’s sense of humor is one of their most endearing qualities.”
Muffy, aka “Miss Muffins,” is a 9-year-old Toy Poodle.
“Muffy is sassy, elegant and high maintenance (as you can see from the photograph),” said her dog mom, Natalie.
Ellis noted, “All these owners know how intelligent, loyal and loving the Poodle is. The innocent look in their eyes that says ‘Who, me?’ The goose bumps you get when they cuddle close and then give you the look of devotion. But they love fun and are clever enough to purposely make us laugh. Muffy is all Poodle!”
When Muffy is wearing one of her favorite outfits, she loves to prance around, showing it off. “We call her the ‘Furshionista’ at home because of her love of clothes,” Natalie said.
“I imagine her saying, ‘Look at me, I am fur-bulous!’”
2nd Place: Milo
Ellis said she chose this photo because of its artistic quality. “Milo’s photo radiates loyalty and love, but also patience,” she said.
Milo is a 6-year-old Poodle-Schnauzer mix who was rescued about three years ago after being abandoned.
“There are so many wonderful and unique things about Milo, but we have to say that he is the most intuitive dog,” said his pet parents, Michael and Andrea.
“He always senses if you’re not feeling well or if you need to be cuddled with or if you need kisses. He is a winner, no matter what!”
Ellis agreed. “He’s just a beautiful rescued boy,” she said.
Honorable Mention: Tie – Muffy and Sofia
Based on your “Likes” in our i Love Poodles Facebook photo album, two adorable pooches win the Honorable Mention prize: Sofia and our first-place winner, Muffy!
Sofia is a 4-year-old Standard Poodle.
“She is the most amazing, loving, smartest and funniest dog that I have ever had,” said her dog mom, Karen.
“When it is bed time, she brings her favorite toy to bed. In fact, she knows which name goes with each toy and never makes a mistake when told to get a particular toy.”
Congratulations to Muffy, Milo and Sofia! Muffy and Milo will each receive i Love Dogs Reishi with Green Tea plus a coupon good for a 50-percent discount on their pet parents’ next purchase of i Love Dogs vitamins and supplements.
As the fan favorites, Muffy and Sofia will both receive i Love Dogs bags filled with pawsome goodies.
Thanks again to Joani Kautz Ellis for judging our contest. Since it was founded in 1994, Florida Poodle Rescue has found homes for more than 7,000 abandoned, abused or unwanted Standard, Miniature and Toy Poodles. Because of the economy and the season, the rescue has been taking in more dogs than usual. Many of these homeless Poodles are seniors or had health problems that have since been fixed.
To adopt one of their great Poodles, visit the Florida Poodle Rescue website. The rescue also welcomes donations.
