Prince William Gives Kate a Puppy!

Americans and Brits alike are obsessed with Prince William and Kate Middleton, and now the press is saying the couple might’ve welcomed a dog into their royal home.

According to the UK Mirror, Prince William bought Kate a puppy for her 30th birthday last week. UK paparazzi have spotted the Duchess of Cambridge walking a black Labrador near the royal couple’s Anglesey cottage.

“The dog is ever so cute,” said a source to the UK Mirror. “The Duke and Duchess have been seen with it several times and he runs along at their heels. They are constantly in fits of laughter as it tries to catch them up.”

The puppy will probably travel with his new pet parents between their homes in North Wales and London. Both Prince William and Kate are huge animal lovers, so the adoption isn’t a big surprise. Prince William might’ve chosen a Labrador for Kate because his childhood dog, Widgeon, was also a black Lab.

If you caught the Golden Globes on Sunday night, you might be curious about “The Artist” after the film won for Best Picture, Musical or Comedy. What you might not know about the silent film is that it features a lovable Jack Russell Terrier named Uggie.

According to the Huffington Post, the pup got a few moments in the Hollywoof spotlight when he rolled around on the Globes red carpet. Dog lovers everywhere are falling head over heels (or is it paws?) for this playful pup, so much so that there’s even a campaign swirling around to get the pup an Oscar nomination.

The academy hasn’t gone to the dogs yet, but Uggie’s growing web campaign for the prestigious award still has some bite left in it, so who knows? We may be seeing this Jack Russell with an Oscar instead of a dog bone when the awards happen next month.

Paws Up: Surf Dog Ricochet to Appear on Oprah Winfrey Network!

Our pawl, Surf Dog Ricochet, is going to be in a segment of “Beyond Belief” on the Oprah Winfrey Network on January 24. The segment will feature Ricochet and quadriplegic surfer, Patrick Ivison, with whom Ricochet first surfed more than two years ago.

Ricochet has also been very busy making a sequel to her infamous SURFice dog video that went viral on YouTube. The “SURfice” pup hopes as many kids as possible watch the sequel since as it has several positive messages about staying true to yourself, helping others, anti-bullying and self confidence.

Paws Down: Casey Anthony Gets a Dog

Casey Anthony is back in the news. This time she is getting negative feedback from “Saturday Night Live” and people everywhere for adopting a dog.

According to ABCNews.com, new photos reveal Anthony cuddling a small dog. Anthony, who was recently acquitted of killing her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee, first mentioned the dog in a personal video diary that her attorneys are claiming was illegally obtained and leaked.

“This [video diary] has just been such a blessing in so many ways and now I, in some ways, have someone to talk to when I’m by myself so I’m not bothering the poor dog who I’ve adopted and I love,” Anthony said in the video.

The public backlash has already started against Anthony. The Facebook group, Save Casey Anthony’s Dog, has almost 1,000 likes. Anthony’s pup even made a cameo on “Saturday Night Live” this past weekend when actor Daniel Radcliffe dressed up as a Yorkshire Terrier and appeared as “Casey Anthony’s dog.”
