HOLLYWOOF REPORTER: Uggie to Visit Bo Obama and Gene Simmons Opens New Dog-Friendly Restaurant

This week’s Hollywoof Reporter has the pooch scoop on these dog celebrities and celebrities’ dogs:

Uggie + Bo = Cuteness Overload

Overload of cuteness ahead! In April, Hollywood’s favorite Jack Russell Terrier, Uggie, will be wagging his tail with Bo Obama. OMD!

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Uggie became a favorite of the Portuguese Water Dog because of his role in the Oscar-winning film “The Artist.”  The new Nintendo spokesdog will attend the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner. No word if he’ll be bringing Bo a new 3DS.

The dinner will be hosted by late-show comedian, Jimmy Kimmel, who discovered this week that there were actually three Uggies used for “The Artist” – Uggie and two stunt dogs (fake Uggies or “Fuggies”). Kimmel talked with Uggie’s trainer, Omar Van Muller, who revealed that Uggie had backup dogs in case the pup got sick. You can watch the full interview on YouTube.

Gene Simmons Opens a Rockin’ New Dog-Friendly Restaurant

Gene Simmons, rock legend and media mogul, is parlaying his love for music into a new restaurant and entertainment venture called Rock & Brews. According to a press release, the concept behind the restaurant is “to capture the excitement of live concerts in an authentically themed backstage environment.”

The first Rock & Brews is scheduled to open just south of Los Angeles International Airport in the beach community of El Segundo, Calif., on April 3. Rock & Brews is set to feature a casual, friendly, energized environment decked out with picnic tables, concert lighting and retractable projection screens and speakers that create a 360-degree experience.

The venue is designed to be dog-friendly with a large open-air area where four-legged guests can howl to the tunes.

We have a feeling we’ll be high-tailing it over there when it opens.
