Two four-legged BFFs – one who would be a good guard dog and another who would take care of your overgrown lawn – were waiting to be claimed at Gaston County Animal Control in North Carolina this week.
The year-old German Shepherd and goat, both males, were admitted to the shelter on Wednesday. According to the Gaston County: NC Available Pets in Animal Control Facebook page, the two did not do well when they were separated, so the shelter moved them where they could see each other.
Several people offered to foster or adopt the interspecies pals. It would have been a bit of a complicated process, since the shelter considers goats to be livestock and auctions them off rather than adopting them out.
Fortunately, the owner of the dog and goat reclaimed them yesterday. We wish these two buddies a very happy furever after together.
