On Wednesday, November 11, Last Chance for Animals’ Kim Sill and Shannon von Roemer of Bark ‘N’ Bitches had lots to celebrate. Animal rights advocates and animal shelter superheroes, the two have been instrumental in re-homing 1,000 abandoned dogs via von Roemer’s trendy pooch boutique Bark ‘N’ Bitches.
In celebration of such a momentous event, the creatively named “D-Cups Saving Teacups,” an organization self-described as “Women joining forces against puppy mills and the pet stores who sell puppy mill dogs,” hosted a bash at the pet store with Sill and von Roemer at the helm.
The glitterati came out to support this important cause, and famous faces like those of Kelly Carlson (”NIP/TUCK” and “Melrose Place”), Angie Everhart (supermodel/actress), and Staci Hall (”The Hills”) were toting cute adoptable puppies on the red carpet. The real stars of the night though were the dogs roaming about the store looking for their
new perfect pet parents.
Puppies Pablo, Precious, Emily, and Calypso were the top dogs at this event as they received “ooohs” and “awwws” from their many adoring fans. A mama Pit Bull and her three blue Pit Bull pups grabbed the hearts of all in attendance and gave out puppy kisses o’ plenty.
The event included silent and live auctions, items for sale, and Margo’s Bark Root Beer, a company whose proceeds go to animal shelters. Organizers urged those attending to donate and help spay/neuter the next 1,000 dogs coming through the innovative pet store’s doors. i Love Dogs‘ staff was in attendance and we were excited to provide doggie gift bags for those who adopted a pup.
The evening was a success, and an important event to help commemorate the great work that so many great heroes do to help puppy mill and shelter animals in need.

Bravo.
