Legislators in Maryland – the only U.S. state to enforce statewide BSL – were unable to reach a compromise on two similar bills that would stop labeling all Pit Bulls as being inherently dangerous.
Attempts to enforce breed-specific legislation have been rejected this month in Florida, Maryland, Connecticut and New Mexico.
On Aug. 14 Miami-Dade County voted not to repeal its Pit Bull ban, and the Maryland General Assembly deadlocked on removing language from a bill that calls all Pit Bulls “inherently dangerous.”
